Prayer of the Day

Adapted from the Prayer of the Day for Christ the King B from Sundays and Seasons

Almighty and ever-living God, you called your son Jesus to reign over all the earth. Grant that all the people of the earth, now divided by the power of sin, may one day be united into the glorious kingdom of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
Amen.

Prayers of the Church (traditional)

We are lightly adapting the Prayers of Intercession from Sundays and Seasons for Christ the King B

Prayers of the People (contemporary)

adapted from the Prayers of the Church

Gracious God, we come to you, our one true king, as we pray for the church, the world, and all of God’s creation.

God, we pray for renewal in all expressions of your church.  Raise up workers for your kingdom that will bring your love and justice to all the world.

God, we pray for our leaders.  Grant them wisdom, discernment, and courage to do the right thing, and to stand up to those who try to pull them away from loving justice and mercy.

God, we pray for all those who struggle in body, mind, and spirit.  Help them to face each day with strength and hope.  We pray especially for those from our community who are receiving hospice care: **insert names here**. For what and for whom else do the people of God pray?

We offer our prayers to you, gracious God, trusting in your boundless love for all that you have made, through Jesus Christ our Savior.
Amen.
