Prayer of the Day
We used the prayer of the day from Clergy Stuff for 2020-21
Prayers of the Church (traditional)
We are using prayers which have been lightly adapted from those provided by Freed From, Freed For for September 20, 2020
Prayers of the People (contemporary)
God, you bring us together as siblings in Christ, and together we call out to you in prayer for the church, the world, and all of your creation.
God of truth, you call upon your church to proclaim your good news and live out your promises. Encourage us to carry your light into a darkened world.
God of justice, you have called forth people to lead us in all areas of life. Imprint on our leaders’ hearts a keen interest in pursuing justice, mercy, and kindness while walking humbly with you and with other leaders with whom they may not see eye to eye.
God of compassion, be with those who struggle in body, mind, and spirit. Surround them with your love and tenderness. We pray especially for those from our community who are receiving hospice care: **insert names here**. For what and for whom else do the people of God pray?
Holy One, hear our prayers and make us faithful stewards of the fragile bounty of this earth so that we may be entrusted with the riches of heaven. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray.
Amen.
