Prayer of the Day
Ascension is using the prayer of the day as provided by Working Preacher
God of dreams and hope, you spoke to Joseph in his dreams, and those dreams led him to great danger. Yet you used the challenges in his life to save the lives of others. In you, no good thing is accidental. You work in us and through us, even when we are not aware of your presence. Help us to know that you are with us, and that only you are capable
of turning all evil to good. We pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer.
Amen.
Prayers of the Church (traditional)
We are using the prayers as provided by Clergy Stuff in 2020-21.
Prayers of the People (contemporary)
Influenced by the Prayers of the Church above
Let us pray.
As we pursue peace, we center ourselves in prayer for the church, the world, and all those in need.
God of harmony, sometimes we find ourselves in conflict with others, be it in the parking ot, the ballpark, our homes, or even in the church. Open our eyes to see past that which separates us, and open our hearts to restored relationships.
God of creation, be with those who are impacted by wildfires. Sustain those who work long, arduous hours fighting the fires. Comfort those who have lost everything. Renew and repair the scorched land.
Gd of hope, be with those who struggle in body, mind, and spirit. Surround those facing unexpected illness with your grace and peace. We pray especially for those from our community who are receiving hospice care: **insert names here**. For what and for whom else do the people of God pray?
Receive these prayers and invigorate us to live out your will on earth, for which we pray through Jesus our Lord.
Amen.
